Travelling with children comes with its own challenges and, before establishing our exclusive Traffic Light Rating System, Kids Welcome interviewed parents with varying ages of children to determine their needs and desires while travelling. The results were compiled into a questionnaire asking parents to rate the factors by importance. Results were then used to critique the tourism products you see throughout these pages.

There are three different age groups represented on the traffic light:

PRESCHOOL IS RED, PRIMARY IS AMBER, TEEN IS GREEN.

A smile means it is suitable

A huge grin means it is highly recommended

A blank means it probably isn’t suitable

The easy to follow traffic light gives you instant feedback on the suitability of each tourism product for your family and the age-group of your children. It does not, however, mean every activity is suitable for the suggested ages. Children vary, and tourism products also change over time. Please consider the reviews within these pages to be the author’s personal opinion. It is not my intention, in any way, to usurp your parental integrity or responsibility.
