The overwhelming draw of the Grampians are it’s natural attractions, from stunning walking trails to mountain swimming holes. These are not the only reason to visit, though. We just loved the Halls Gap Zoo and the chance to hand-feed a meerkat. The Volcanoes Discovery centre at Penshurst will engage the pyromaniac kids amongst you and the annual sheepdog trials at Milton (in March) will wow animal lovers. The town of Halls Gap is the centre of the region and welcomes with stunning parks, friendly shopping and Amber’s favourite ice cream parlour: The Four Clowns.
Camping in the Grampians varies between well appointed private grounds to remote National Park hideaways. Lake Fynes offers an expansive park, room to explore by boat and proximity to other attractions.
